About
Dave Ware has been creating LEGO Mosaics since 2006. A life-long LEGO enthusiast, his initial interest in mosaics began during a trip to the Calgary Science Centre with his son. Dave was fascinated by the LEGO Egypt exhibit, and began making mosaics at home soon after. Over the last 9 years, he has created over 90 LEGO mosaics. The pieces range in size from 15×15 inches to 7×5 feet and encompasses thousands of bricks. Known for his pop culture and celebrity mosaics, Dave has build pieces for Academy Award winners, television personalities, and cultural icons. Peter Dinklage called Dave’s work “Brilliant”. Richard Taylor (CEO of Weta Workshop) called his work “Exquisite”.
Dave is an avid LEGO fan, and part of the worldwide LEGO community, attending and displaying at various annual events. Dave’s award winning pieces have been on display in both Canada and the United States. His 2009 piece “To The Stars” won the Best Mosaic (Large) prize at BrickCon 2009 in Seattle Washington, and was later sold to a private collector.
