A couple of weeks back, I was looking through various blogs and sites about everyone’s favorite building material, and I came across the Lifelites site. I’d seen a number of MOCs with lights, and have even added lights to a recent mosaic. But folks, I did it the hard way. A quick trip to LifeLites would have saved me hours of effort.
I picked up 2 of the eLite Basic kits. They come with a battery pack (takes 2 AAAA), an eLite unit, which has a brick pattern on the bottom, and can be connected to a baseplate or brick, etc. It also has 8 6inch LED cables with an LED embedded in a 3mm Technic pin. This is apparently no longer the case, though the lights can be inserted to your own 3mm pins very easily.
My plan is to add the lights to my Cafe-Corner style city block, and light up the town. In order to make things the way I want, i’ll be ordering a few more LED extenders (probably 12 inch), so that I can place the lights exactly where I want them.
Here’s some shots of the lights in action!

By adding a trans-green or blue to the top of each light, I was able to make some very cool mood lighting.
The lights are great, the service was quick and awesome, and I highly recommend if you’re looking to add a little something to your work, check out the LifeLites site. I’m no expert, so check the site for the real info, and tell them that Brickwares sent you.
